9:30 am        GETTING IT DONE – WOMEN LEADING IN BUSINESS, COMMUNITY AND LIFE

Are leaders born or made? Leadership sometimes has nothing to do with positional authority and everything with how well leaders influence outcomes and inspire others.  This panel will explore action-oriented practices and share personal stories that allow you to develop new leadership tools to help lead and impact change even if you are not “in charge.”  Dive into the conversation on core behaviors of influential leadership: credibility, authenticity, emotional resolve and confidence.  Leave the session knowing how to use your voice and project power, even when you are not the designated leader in the room!

10:45 am      DEVELOPING YOUR POWER NETWORK

For busy leaders, time is a limited resource, but networking is an integral part of being a leader. Networking isn’t just about the number of connections you have – it’s about meeting and fostering relationships with people who will help get things done. Are you ready to quit filling up the calendar with random events and start building and leveraging relationships that help you as a leader? This session provides tools and strategies to help you spend less time in random meetings and more time building a community of leadership supporters.

3:00 pm        POWER SPEAKING FOR WOMEN

Whether we're talking in a team meeting, presenting in front of an audience, or leading a volunteer group in our community we all have to speak in public from time to time. We can do this well or we can do this badly, and the outcome strongly affects the way that people think about us. This is why public speaking causes so much anxiety and concern. The good news is, with preparation and practice, you can overcome your nervousness and perform exceptionally well. Even if you don't need to make regular presentations, there are plenty of situations where good public speaking skills can help you advance your initiatives – personally, professionally and politically. We use our speaking skills in all aspects of our life - talking about your organization at a conference, making a speech after accepting an award, speaking up at a community meeting. Speaking to an audience can also include online presentations or talks; blogging or using social media to accomplish your goals.  Good public speaking skills are important in our personal lives too. Being a good public speaker can enhance your reputation, boost your self-confidence and open up countless opportunities.

Cassandra Pye, President, 3.14 Communications (invited)
