Leadership Academy Recap for Danville
Share |

On August 18, 2017 in Danville, CA the first California Women LEADership Academy of the season took place.

Our members were able to learn a great deal from all of the speakers that were present, including Assembly Woman Catherine Baker, CEO of the Danville Chamber of Commerce Shelley Despotakis, Frances Anderson, Chairwoman of the East Bay Women’s Conference, Gail Murray, former Mayor of Walnut Creek, and Renee Morgan, Mayor of Danville. The speakers inspired attendees by sharing the trials and successes they had in their political careers.

The sessions offered in this Academy consisted of “Getting It Done – Women Leading in Business, Community and Life,” “Diversity, Inclusion and the Future for Women in Business,” and “Power Speaking for Women,” which were presented by Rachel Michelin, Executive Director of California Women Lead and Cassandra Pye, President of California Women Lead. These classes provided great insight into some of the issues that women deal with every day while trying to advance their careers, whether political or with their own business.

Without these amazing women sharing their stories and giving our members the skills and tools they will need to accomplish their goals, this LEADership Academy wouldn’t have been as much of a success as it was! We look forward to our next LEADership Academy in Fresno on September 29th.
